WoW TBC – An Introduction to Herbalism
Here’s the facts you need to get started with Herbalism skill in WoW TBC.
Gathering materials can have a lot of benefits for you in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. They can be a great way of earning WoW TBC gold, as well as helping you create WoW TBC Classic items too. As for herbalism, this is one of the gathering skills that is in high demand in the game. So, we are going to be taking a look at the facts that you need to know about this herbalism gathering skill.
What is Herbalism?
When practicing this Herbalism skill, you are going to be picking herbs. For the majority of the time, you will be using this with alchemy. When you are in the Outlands, you will be able to receive bonuses for harvesting certain items. So you could find the likes of the Sporeggar currency known as Glowcap. Or if you have certain quests that require herbs to be found, then this skill will come in handy.
You have the use of a tracking ability at your disposal as well. The Find Herbs feature allows you to locate herb nodes on your minimap. You will also find that there’s a lot of new herbs that have been added to the zones in the Outlands. If you’re in the starting area for Blood Elves, for example, you will find some in the Eversong Woods. You’ll come across high-level herbs like Dreamfoil too in Outlands zones that are of a lower level.
How Does it Differ to Retail?
Herbalism has some vast differences when you compare it to the Retail version of the game to WoW TBC. Meanwhile, the differences between Classic and TBC are very few.
The Retail version of World of Warcraft allows a number of herbalists to harvest one node before it disappears. This lasts for a minute after harvesting, which was an alteration that was brought in during Mists of Pandaria. However, in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, the node disappears after the first player has selected it.
Meanwhile, in WoW TBC you are actually limited to the level that your herbalism skill has. This means that you can still fail when trying to pick herbs even within your skill range. Retail however doesn’t use skill levels to decide whether or not you are successful. It only determines the number of herbs that you pick. You don’t get experience from herbs in WoW TBC either, whereas Retail does actually give you a little experience. This change was introduced during the Cataclysm era.
What’s more, you are only able to use one form of tracking at a time when playing World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Retail however gives you a lot more options. You can track the number of objects, including herbs, fish, and other hunter tracking abilities as well.
What Profession Should I Use?
We have already touched on the best profession to use with herbalism skill, which is going to be alchemy. This is a skill that uses herbs quite a lot, so it would be the right thing to do to pair them as such. It won’t get you out of having to buy WoW TBC gold, but you will find a lot of use for it.
If you wish, you can double up with another gathering strategy. This will give you the chance to make some decent WoW TBC gold too. Skinning and mining are both great options, though the former is going to be the easier choice since you don’t have to swap between tracking.
What Race/Class Should I Use?
You should check out druids for herbalism. They can use the necessary skills whilst they are in travel form, thanks to the Flight Form that was brought in for WoW TBC. This only enhances their strengths with the herbalism skill since you can travel to each node without dismounting along the way. Alternatively, you have the Tauren. They can use one of their racial abilities known as Cultivation. This gives a +15 boost to the herbalism skill base. With this, you can harvest herbs that are at a higher level earlier than other players would be able to.
There is going to be a lot for you to learn when it comes to TBC. Besides the likes of Burning Crusade power leveling and earning WoW TBC gold, you’re going to need to know how skills such as herbalism work. So before working about WoW TBC power leveling or what level you need to be at, take some time to look into the game‘s skills and what they can do to benefit you.
